When Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger tour comes to US Airways Center on Wednesday, the best-selling song to ever come from an American Idol contestant will come along with it.
Billboard.com recently reported that the hit song "Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)" had sold 3,510,000 singles, surpassing Carrie Underwood’s "Before He Cheats" to become the most-sold single by an Idol artist.
Just going by the numbers, the lifespan of Clarkson’s mega-hit tells an interesting story about her career thus far. Billboard.com reported that Stronger went No. 1 on 11 of its charts, including the Adult Contemporary list for five consecutive weeks. That song also contributed to Clarkson selling an astounding 11,664,000 albums over the course of her music career, and, in total, her singles have been downloaded 24,100,000 times.
Clarkson and Underwood are also the two best-selling participants in terms of albums sold by contestants of the show.
Be sure to purchase your tickets to see Clarkson, along with The Fray, at US Airways Center THIS Wednesday, Aug. 1.
