PHOENIX SUNS TO HOST “R U ORNG? SUNS FEST” OCTOBER 24

Free family event offering fans a look at the 2009-10 Phoenix Suns

PHOENIX – Suns fans will have an opportunity to show their true color when the club tips off the 2009-10 season with the “R U ORNG? Suns Fest” on Saturday, October 24 at US Airways Center. The event is free to the public and will run from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Suns celebration will feature a variety of activities for the whole family, including pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating, inflatables, face painting and much more. Suns entertainment including The Gorilla, Suns Dancers, Verve Sol Patrol, Hairy and Hairyson, and APS Solar Squad will be on hand for all of the festivities.

Fans will also catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the 2009-10 Phoenix Suns when the team takes to the court for its annual scrimmage from 1-2 p.m. The team scrimmage will feature returning Suns stars Steve Nash, Amar’e Stoudemire and Grant Hill, in addition to the debut of hometown star Channing Frye.

Admission to the event is free, though the Suns and Hensley are encouraging fans to donate a non-perishable food item at the doors, with proceeds benefitting St. Mary’s Food Bank.

During the event, fans will also have an opportunity to take advantage of special one-day ticket offers including an “Off & Running 4-Game Pack,” and a discount on single-game tickets to the Suns home opener on Friday, October 30 versus Golden State. Fans that purchase either of the offers will be entered to win a pair of courtside seats, a Suns party suite and more.
