PHOENIX – For the eighth consecutive year, the Phoenix Suns are joining forces with Hollywood’s finest to raise money for Phoenix Suns Charities in the 8^th Annual Jack in the Box Celebrity Shootout, presented by Robert & Carole Machiz. This star-studded charity basketball game tips-off at the US Airways Center Saturday, January 19 at 2 PM. Doors open at 12:30 PM.

The event features recording artists, television actors and movie star lineups, dueling it out on the court to benefit local charities. In previous years, more than 12,000 fans attended the Celebrity Shootout to cheer on their favorite entertainers.

In addition to catching a rare, up close glimpse of these personalities, fans will also enjoy appearances by members of the Phoenix Suns team who will serve as coaches, referees and hosts to various contests and promotions. The Phoenix Suns Gorilla, Suns Dancers and Adio Sol Patrol will also be on hand to entertain the crowd.

Funds raised from the Shootout will benefit Phoenix Suns Charities, Suns Nite Hoops and Cox Charities. Phoenix Suns Charities is the cornerstone of the team’s foundation, making grants to non-profit organizations that serve children and youth in the area’s of education, health and human services, the arts, sports and recreation, and rehabilitation.

Suns Nite Hoops is a non-profit program offering life skills, educational advancement and job readiness to at-risk young men and their families by providing them with positive alternatives to drugs, gangs and violence.
