“We are honored to be among the nominees for this year’s Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame. We are especially thrilled for the many, many dedicated RUSH fans to whom this nomination is so very important.” – Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart

After being eligible since 1998, nearly 25 years after the release of their first album, Rush has been officially nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

This is obviously a huge show of respect for the legendary rockers, and should make their trip to US Airways Center in November even more exciting.

Many say the recognition is long overdue.

As a group, Rush has accumulated 24 gold records and 14 platinum records (with three going multi-platinum). Perhaps even more poignant, they rank third only behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band. It is estimated that Rush's total worldwide album sales top out at over 40 million units.

To get you ready for their electrifying show in November, check out the band's official lyric video for "The Wreckers" above, the new single from their recent album Clockwork Angels.
