In November, 2006, the citizens of Arizona passed Proposition 201, The Smoke-Free Arizona Act. This statute prohibits smoking in most indoor public places took effect May 1, 2007.

While U.S. Airways Center as always been a smoke-free facility, to comply with this new ordinance, we are required to remove all ashtrays and prohibit smoking within 20-ft of all facility entry or exit doors. Furthermore, we must ensure that smoke does not make its way back into the building.

Listed below is a general breakdown on where our designated smoking areas are. Please keep in mind that these guidelines are subject to change in our ongoing efforts to comply with the ordinance.

• Smoking on the plaza must take place beyond the light poles.
• Smoking is not allowed outside of the North doors.
• Smoking on the Paseo must take place beyond the white pillars and south of the East doors.
• Smoking is allowed at the base of the stairs near the South doors.

Complying with the ordinance is the responsibility of the organization and its employees. Non-compliance with this law can result in fines for either the individual or our company.
